East Liberty Family Health Care Center

Dr. & Mrs. Stephen and Kristen Wilson have served the patients of the East Liberty Family Health Care Center for more than two decades combined: Stephen as a physician, and Kristen as a Board member and Joyful Noise mastermind. They have been married for 16 years and have two beautiful daughters, Sage (10) and Teyah (6). We honor them for their dedication to advancing the mission of the Center, using their diverse gifts and talents where they can make the greatest impact. Together, they show what can happen when many gifts perform in unison. The people are blessed and God is glorified!

Dr. Wilson has been a family practice physician for 15 years. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in General Science from Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, MA. Stephen is the Director of the Family Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship at Pitt and also the Director of Medical Decision Making for the UPMC St. Margaret Family Medicine Residency Program. Stephen is an in-demand preceptor, and has been honored numerous times for his contributions to medical research and his dedication to his students.

Kristen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, MA. She is an accomplished teacher who has brought an undeniably creative energy to Joyful Noise since the beginning. Kristen uses her gifts in teaching by staying home to care for her daughters and working part-time at Barnes and Noble Bookstore. She has been the Co-chair of our annual Joyful Noise campaign alongside Jane Hollman for five years. Under her leadership, Joyful Noise has generated more than $300,000 to benefit all the programs and services offered by the Center.

The Wilsons share an ability to lead and teach. Dr. Wilson not only has become a mentor to hopeful medical residents and fellows, but he leads a Bible Study at Allegheny Center Alliance Church (ACAC) where he and Kristen are members. Kristen enjoys being the Co-chair of the Joyful Noise Committee. She believes that Joyful Noise is critical to getting the word out about the services offered by the Center, which she refers to as an unsung hero in the non-profit industry. Kristen is looking forward to hearing the Bee Gees' "Staying Alive," the song she selected to enter our Top 10 song category at this year's event because she knows how the East Liberty Family Health Care Center helps all of its patients to "stay Alive--and well!" J

Stephen and Kristen have adopted a goal of raising $3,000 to support the Center's Pediatric Outreach Program which meets our young mothers where they live and breathe, and helps them to comply with their doctors' recommendations and raise healthy children from birth until they can enter school ready to learn.
